I am a student in an AP US History class and this is my webpage on Okies! I was born in Ireland and raised by a sheep named Agnes- a very intelligent creature. She taught me everything I know about Okies because she's lived in Oklahoma for most of her life. This paper is dedicated in part to my dear Aunt Agnes as well as my three goldfish, Winkin', Blinkin', and Nod.
This webpage is devoted to the story of migrant Okies who came to California during the 1930s as a result of both natural and man-made disasters. They created a new Okie-subculture in California which reflected the traditions of the old mixed with the experiences of the new. I wrote a paper on this subject and here is my paper, converted into a webpage. I broke it up into several sections and added pictures and links for your convenience! However, if you want the whole thing, its all here in the Pintable Paper part of my page. Enjoy!
